Understanding Attestation

What Is Embassy Attestation in UAE?

Embassy attestation is the official process of verifying and authenticating documents by a foreign embassy or consulate so they are legally recognized in the UAE. It is mandatory for employment visas, business licenses, family sponsorships, and educational admissions.

🏛️

What It Means

Attestation is the official certification that your document is genuine and issued by a recognized authority in your home country—verified by the UAE embassy or MOFA.

⚖️

Why It's Legally Required

The UAE government mandates attestation to prevent fraud and verify the authenticity of all foreign documents submitted for government, legal, or business purposes.

Who Needs It

How It Works

Step-by-Step UAE Attestation Process

Our streamlined 6-step process ensures your documents are fully attested and legally recognized in the UAE—with zero stress on your end.

1

Notarization in Home Country

Your documents must first be notarized by a registered notary public in your home country. This confirms that the documents are genuine originals issued by a recognized institution.

2

HRD / State Government Attestation

Educational documents must be attested by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Department or the State Government's Education Department in your home country. This verifies the institution's recognition.

3

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Attestation

The document is submitted to your home country's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) or equivalent federal authority. This is the national-level authentication before the document goes to the UAE embassy.

4

UAE Embassy Attestation

Certificate Translation
An absolutely positive experience with the company’s services. The entire process was conducted online, with no need to visit the office in person. From the moment I submitted my request to receiving the finalized document, less than four hours passed — even though I had purchased a non-urgent service package. I worked with a consultant Maida, who was always available and responded instantly. An outstanding experience with this company — I will definitely recommend it to friends and will use their services again myself.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about embassy attestation in the UAE. Can't find an answer? Chat with us on WhatsApp.

What is the difference between attestation and apostille?+
Attestation and apostille are both methods of document legalization, but they apply in different contexts. An apostille is used between countries that are members of the Hague Convention (e.g., UK, US, most of Europe). The UAE is NOT a member of the Hague Convention, which means apostille is NOT accepted for UAE purposes — you must go through the full embassy attestation process instead.
How long does UAE embassy attestation take?+
The total time depends on your document type and country of origin. Generally: Standard service takes 7–10 business days. Express service takes 3–5 business days. The process involves multiple steps across different authorities (notary, state HRD, MEA, UAE Embassy, MOFA), each with their own processing times. We manage all steps simultaneously to minimize delays.
Do I need to be physically present for attestation?+
No! You do not need to be present. We offer door-to-door document pickup and delivery anywhere in the UAE. You can also courier your original documents to us. Our team handles the entire process on your behalf, including all submissions, follow-ups, and returns. We keep you informed via WhatsApp at every step.
Which documents are required for UAE MOFA attestation?+
For UAE MOFA attestation, you typically need: (1) Original document already attested by UAE Embassy; (2) A copy of your UAE residence visa or Emirates ID; (3) A copy of your passport. Requirements may vary slightly by document type. Our team will provide a precise checklist after reviewing your specific document type.
Can you attest documents from all countries?+
Yes! We handle attestation from 40+ countries including India, Pakistan, Philippines, UK, USA, Egypt, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Kenya, Nigeria, and many more. Each country has a different process chain and we are well-versed in all of them. Contact us with your country of origin and we'll outline the exact steps.
What if my document is rejected? Do I get a refund?+
In the rare case of rejection (our success rate is 98%), we assess the reason and resubmit at no additional charge for our Express service clients. For Standard clients, we'll advise on the corrective steps needed. Government authority fees (if already paid) are generally non-refundable, but our service fee is fully refunded if we are unable to get your document attested.
Is attestation required for educational certificates to work in UAE?+
Yes. The UAE government requires all foreign educational certificates to be fully attested for work visa issuance. For healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists), the documents must also be verified through DATAFLOW and approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH depending on the emirate. We handle both attestation and DATAFLOW submission.
How do I track my document status?+
Once we receive your documents, we provide you with a unique tracking reference. You'll receive automatic WhatsApp and SMS notifications at each stage — when submitted to the embassy, when returned, when submitted to MOFA, and when ready for delivery. You can also contact your dedicated case manager at any time for a live update.
